Home Furnishings Trail

High Point is known as the "Home Furnishings Capital of the World!"TM and for good reason.  In addition to hosting the High Point Market twice a year, we have more than fifty furniture stores and outlets that are open year round to the general public.  Depending on the style you are looking for will determine which ones you'll want to visit.  A stop by the Regional Visitors Center is a great way to get you on the right track.  This specific trail is designed to give you a taste of everything High Point has to offer.  You'll want to have a hearty breakfast before hitting the stores as you'll be doing a lot of walking.  Tom's Place is a local favorite for breakfast and offers everything from a healthy choice breakfast to a true southern meal.   Driving south on Main Street, towards downtown will get you to the cluster of stores that are nestled between the market showrooms.  Open to the public are Capa, Adams Furniture, Zaki Oriental Rugs, EJ Victor, and Stickley Furniture. These stores will offer the many popular styles including: antiques, Victorian, contemporary, mission and traditional.

Because High Point was once the manufacturing hub for furniture a trip to High Point Museum may be beneficial to learn about the history of furniture and how it was made and is made today at the "High Point's Furniture Heritage" exhibit.  It will definitely help you to appreciate the craftsmanship of the trade.

By now you've probably worked up an appetite and rightfully so!  High Point has many local favorites to choose from including Sweet Old Bill's.  They've got a variety, including barbecue, burgers and sandwiches and each bite is full of flavor and tastes to fresh.  The Cowboy, a brisket sandwich, is a favorite and served with regular or sweet potato fries.

Walk miles and miles of showroom space, offering every style imaginable at Furnitureland South.  With the size of 19 football fields, you will find plenty of manufacturers in just one location.  Abu Oriental Rugs located adjacent to FLS, offers a variety of rugs as well as some case goods.  IMS across the highway has selections of all types of furniture; including outdoor.

Many accessories are available in all the furniture stores, but if you are still searching, there are stores specializing in accessories only, including Arts by Alexander, towards Jamestown.

In addition to High Point, there are many furniture stores in the Piedmont Triad.  Please stop by the High Point Regional Visitors Center to find out more information on ALL stores in the area!

Quench your thirst at Blue Rock Pizza and Tap!  Not only are the selections of beer plentiful but so are the pizzas!  You won't go wrong with the Stairway to Freebird paired with a local brew.
