URBAN EXPRESSIONS Exhibit

Thursday, June 01 -
Friday, August 04, 2017

Theatre Art Galleries
220 E. Commerce Ave.
High Point, NC 27260

Cost: Free

The Main Gallery & Hallway Gallery will feature Public art.  Public art can take a wide range of forms, sizes, and scales - and can be temporary or permanent.  It can also include murals, sculpture, memorials, integrated architectural or landscape architectural work, community art, digital new media, and even performances and festivals!  Whatever the form, public art instills meaning - a greater sense of identity and understandings of where we live, work, and visit - creating memorable experiences for all.  This exhibit features the work of regional muralists who will envision what High Point could look like if we transformed blank walls into canvases for their creativity.

The Upstairs Gallery will feature "Summerball: a month with the Torrington Twisters".  In 2005, Laurie and Blair Pessemier, fine art painters, found the Torrington Twisters, a NECBL team, and spent 30 days documenting the team in paintings, sketches and writing.

Showcased in the Kaleidoscope Youth Gallery will be the Annual Middle School Art Exhibition.  These exhibits will remain on view through August 4, 2017.

Gallery hours:  Tuesday - Friday 12pm-5pm
