Argentinean artist Fernanda Piamonti has been awarded many national and international awards during her career. In 2008, she participated in an International Scholarship in Saint Martí de Empuriers, Spain, with the idea of working with “the circular space.” Terraces of overlooks allowed her to see complete 360 degree panoramic views. In 2014 and 2016, she obtained artist residencies in the Cité International des Arts, Paris in order to carry out a project on the aerial panoramic. The panoramic works delved into the search of a space that unites, overlaps, converges and sustains itself, both artistically and symbolically, just as bridges do.
This entire journey has motivated her to investigate even further, this time in a collective and collaborative group with the students of High Point University. Painting a bridge will create a unity amongst the group, representative of a bridge’s unification of two places.
